STARNET provides internet hotspot access via MikroTik infrastructure in [SERVICE AREA]. Access is granted per package purchased and tracked by remaining time, which pauses automatically during outages and does not resume counting down until your device is back online.
Creating an account requires a KES 2 confirmation charge via M-Pesa. This is not a package purchase — it verifies you're a real, reachable customer and helps keep the network free of fake or abusive signups. Once confirmed, new accounts receive a one-time free trial period.
Each phone number and each device may only be used for one free trial. Attempting to claim more than one trial using the same phone number or the same device will result in the account being permanently blocked from future trials.
Your account is protected by a 4-digit PIN. You are responsible for keeping your PIN private. If you forget your PIN, you can recover access yourself via the PIN recovery option using your registered phone number — STARNET cannot retrieve or read your PIN on your behalf.
Family packages allow the account owner to share internet access with up to 3 additional devices (4 total, including the owner) at the same physical location. Only the account owner may purchase a family package. Devices connecting as a "dependant" receive internet access only while the owner's family package is active and a slot is available; dependant devices do not have access to purchase packages, change account details, or view billing.
Your account is linked to the device you signed up with. If you get a new phone or device, you can update your account to recognize it as the owner device by re-verifying with a small confirmation charge (KES 2). A device already registered as a dependant on another account, or as the owner device of another account, cannot be re-registered as your owner device.
For the most reliable experience, use your device's own network hardware address (MAC address) rather than a randomized or private one — some devices generate a new randomized address each time they connect, which STARNET may read as a different device and can affect trial eligibility, session continuity, and owner/dependant recognition.
Payments are processed via M-Pesa STK push through our payment partner. Package time is granted automatically once payment is confirmed. If a payment is deducted but no internet access is granted, contact support with your M-Pesa confirmation message.
Accounts and devices are for personal or single-household use. Reselling access, tampering with the MikroTik network, or attempting to bypass session limits may result in suspension without refund.
We collect the minimum needed to run your account and connection: phone number, device identifiers, session and payment history, and (if provided) name and email. Your PIN is stored securely and cannot be viewed by STARNET staff. Your data is used to operate your account and provide support, and is not sold to third parties.
